Snail Meets Toddler

A Meeting of Two Great Minds:

As Told By Grace:

Why, hello little creature! Who are you? What are you? Let me crouch down and get a better look. Nope, not good enough I shall have to pick you up for closer inspection.

Itchy Von Klinkerhorn

Sometimes, I have written a post and sat on it for a while, unsure whether to make it public or not. It may be because it’s personal or emotional. It may be because it’s contraversial and I’m not sure how people will react. Well this post posed a similar dilemma for me but for different reasons. Do I, or do I not, show the world my other half as his secret alias – Itchy Von Klinkerhorn – in the Cardiff heats of the Official Air Guitar Championships?

My Darling Grace . . .

My Darling Grace,

Sometimes I stand by your bed and watch you sleep. You look perfect to me. You breath in and out deeply and you are content. Every now and then you will jiffle about, or raise your eyebrows and sigh. This makes me smile. These are also the times I feel sad and miss my Mum the most.

I’ll  imagine that she is standing behind my left shoulder, just out of sight, and we are admiring you together. I concentrate hard and wish with all my heart that I will feel her hand on my shoulder, or her breath on my ear, whilst deep down knowing this cannot be.

The John-Crane High Tea Shape Matching Set

I must admit, I was really looking forward to getting this particular product to review. It looked so lovely on the pictures I’d been sent. I must also further admit – I wasn’t disappointed. This way, I hope to give the illusion to anyone who may visit that all Grace’s toys are of this caliber!

Let me introduce you to the High Tea Shape Matching Set made by John Crane Ltd (approx £23.95):

Gibtionary.

The Giblet’s talking is coming on in leaps and bounds. There’s a new word every day and I’m ab-so-lute-ly loving it! A toddler can make anything sound cute. I’ve blogged before about some of her little verbal adventures ( Welsh Train Stations and French Generals.) Also her obsession with the word ‘Daddy’ (used for anyone other than her actual father) is well documented in the Daddy’s Girl post.

Now though, she has a real hunger for words. She watches mouths intently when they are speaking to her. She repeats, she sings, she chit-chats that adorable mixture of gibberish-with-the-odd-real-word-thrown-in and she gives herself a darn good clap and cheer after each little achievement. As things stand, it is probably only myself as the doting mother that can actually understand what she’s trying to say, so for the benefit of those that know her, and may want to know what the hell she’s talking about, here is the updated Gibby Dictionary. Or Gibtionary as I like to call it:
